Nirvana has evolved into an excellent personal GTD and GTD solution, worth looking at.
Particularly nice is its ability to pause or schedule projects (and all tasks within them) and designate project steps as sequential or simultaneous. You can also star tasks to create an instant "must do today" list as taught in TRO Online training.
The Hit List is the definitive and impressive response to Mac's general lack of powerful task management software.
Able to support a wide variety to systems and styles, The Hit List can be as simple as written notes or as powerful as a search-and-destroy task list. Powerful search-lists allow for almost anything you can imagine with the simplicity of click-to-search.
The Hit List supports either GTD or TRO work styles and is highly customizable to fit a wide range of situations. Browser plugins, Gmail and iCal integration and a good iPhone app make this a great task list.
For Mac users looking for a powerful task manager that works offline, The Hit List should be the option you take most seriously.
