The Default Reminder Time is the time that Outlook will normally schedule new reminders for tasks with hard dates. Choose a time before the start of your day, well before your daily review:

Set it Early, Not Late

If you set the reminder time too late, your reminders will not appear in time for your daily review, and you will lose visibility on that day’s tasks.

  1. Go to the Tools menu.
  2. Select Options
  3. Under Tasks, change the Default Reminder Time to a time well before your daily review time.
  4. Click the Preferences tab.
  5. Click the Task Options button.
  6. (UNcheck) Set reminders on tasks with due dates (turn this OFF).
  7. Click OK twice to save.
