Drag and drop the email onto the Tasks icon at the bottom of the navigation bar on the left. A new task opens up with all the information for the email.
Tip: Make Email Replies Easier
In Outlook, you can’t reply from a task directly, even if you created it from an email. However, you can save a copy of the email inside the task notes and reply to that. This saves you time looking up the original email. To do this:
- Leave the task open.
- Right-click the original email (in the Inbox or wherever) and choose Copy.
- Right-click inside the task Notes field and cchoose Paste.
- Save the task normally.
The original email is now embedded inside the task Notes. If you do this, you can just archive the original email instead of saving it to a [Deferred] folder.
