Drag and drop the email onto the Tasks icon at the bottom of the navigation bar on the left. A new task opens up with all the information for the email.

Tip: Make Email Replies Easier

In Outlook, you can’t reply from a task directly, even if you created it from an email. However, you can save a copy of the email inside the task notes and reply to that. This saves you time looking up the original email. To do this:

  1. Leave the task open.
  2. Right-click the original email (in the Inbox or wherever) and choose Copy.
  3. Right-click inside the task Notes field and cchoose Paste.
  4. Save the task normally.

The original email is now embedded inside the task Notes. If you do this, you can just archive the original email instead of saving it to a [Deferred] folder.
