Next Actions

Next actions are entered in different places depending on the project method you chose. Options include:

  • Inline w/ Notes. Enter the next action after the project name in the task Name, Title, or Subject field, like this:

       Project Name / Next Action

    • Handle multiple tasks at once by adding other tasks with the same “Project Name”.
    • Future next steps are kept in the Notes.
  • Full Task Name. The task name itself is the next action if your tool uses any of the following for the project name: a project name field, named folders, named lists, or special tags or categories.
    • You can have unlimited active steps at once.
    • Use Someday/Maybe to “pause” future next steps if that feature is not provided.
  • Subtasks, or Hierarchical Tasks. The subtask name itself is the next action for the parent task (project).
    • You can have unlimited active subtasks at once.
    • Use Someday/Maybe to “pause” future next steps if that feature is not provided.
