Your Unprocessed Tasks list contains all the unprocessed tasks you have entered into or forwarded to your RTM account. This includes tasks you triaged into Remember the Milk.
Fast Collecting in RTM
There are many fast and convenient ways to collect to RTM. One of the best is the Quick-Add Bookmarklet. To learn more about this and other ways to collect to RTM, see Collecting Tasks. Find the method that works best for you and use it.
Clicking the Unprocessed Tasks Smart List shows you every task that does not yet have at least 1) a priority and 2) a tag (Someday/Maybe tasks are the exception and only need an sm tag). These tasks will continue to appear as unprocessed until they get a tag and a priority.
Collecting to the Unprocessed Tasks list happens several ways. You can add a new task without processing it. You can send an email to your RTM inbox address. You can sign up with free third-party services that will help you collect tasks to RTM (see RTM Add-Ons in the RTM setup instructions for suggestions). Remember the Milk is particularly useful for collecting tasks on the road, since you can access it from anywhere.
Processing the list is exactly as taught in the Processing lessons, except the tasks are already in the Unprocessed Tasks list. No need to triage. Follow the Processing Flow Chart to move these tasks from your Unprocessed Tasks (a collection point) into your task list (not a collection point). You are really only doing three things:
- Deciding what the project and next steps are (if you haven’t already done so).
- Scheduling the task for later.
- Assigning contexts for this particular step.
