When you don’t have something scheduled in your calendar, work from your task lists. In the morning, sort your task list by Due Date so all tasks in red appear at the top. This is your Do Today list.

When you finish the tasks in red, re-sort the list by clicking the top of the Start Date column or by opening the Sort menu and selecting Start Date. Change Categories to switch to the different context views.

You should only be setting the Due Date (hard date) for tasks/steps that must be done by a certain day or bad things might happen. Most of the tasks and next steps on your list should only have a Start Date (soft date) or S/M Status (Someday/Maybe).
