In Astrid, Priority is the soft date: = this week, = next week, = this month, = later. If the task far in the future, use Someday/Maybe.

In Astrid, Due Date (the When field) is the hard date. Click on the field next to When, then click a date in the calendar pop-up. To remove a hard date, click When, then click the small gray X that appears at the end.
