In ToDoList, Start Date is the soft date, and the Status must be Active.

In Toodledo, Start Date is the soft date. You can enter a date, click the Start Date field and select from the calendar, or enter words like today or next week.

In Entourage, Due Date is the soft date.

In your paper planner, the soft date is not an actual date. Instead, you write the task in the back, behind the correct context tab(s), near the top of the page. Tasks you want to do sooner appear at the top; tasks you want to do later appear father down the list....
